KCS PRO SAIL SYSTEMS

Our sails are made from the highest quality of material available on the market and are manufactured by Owen Sails in the U.K. – one of the most highly respected sail makers in Europe for their high quality and expertise in sail design and manufacturing. Since then we have had amazing feedback from customers and experts on the performance of the sails.   Kayak sailing increases the distance you can cover on an Expedition allowing you to broaden your horizons.      

The Inuits used a sail fitted to their kayaks to broaden their horizons when hunting. as documented by explorers in the 1800’s.    

Extensive testing was undertaken by the renowned kayak sailing expert Dr. Douglas Wilcox. He was very impressed with the performance in light winds force 2/3 and also in force 5.  We also found that when hit with a sudden strong gust of wind the sail was excellent at expelling it before the Sail filled with the gust relieving the pressure and avoided a capsize.  See his full report here.  

If required we offer a no drilling option on your expensive sea kayak, which can be moved to other kayaks.  Carbon fibre mast and boom are standard parts of our high quality Kayak Sailing System

OPTION 1 / SAIL ONLY

As a replacement Sail for Flat Earth, our design is different.     Douglas Wilcox the expert on Sail Systems has found that our system fits the mast and boom for the Flat Earth.

OPTION 2 / SAIL, MAST, BOOM AND ALL HARDWARE

This package is for sail, mast and boom, and all hardware required for kayaks already – or to be – drilled.

Comes complete with everthing required including a Sail Bag.

OPTION 3 / ROUND FORWARD HATCH – NO DRILLING REQUIRED

Our no drilling system for round P&H or other makes of forward hatch. The complete package; sail, mast, boom, mast foot attachment, all stays and shrouds, sheets and auxiliary items including our newly designed hatch cover.  *Please specify the make and model of Kayak when ordering.

Comes complete with everthing required including a Sail Bag.

OPTION 4 / OVAL FORWARD HATCH – NO DRILLING REQUIRED

As above complete for Valley Oval Front Hatch or for Kayaksport Oval Front Hatch. *Please specify make and model of kayak when ordering.

This kit comprises of Mast Foot for drilling the bolts into your kayak with all related parts allowing you just to transfer the Mast, Boom, Sail,

uphaul cord and sheet.   

Included parts are as follows;  Cord loops, Ronstan Shocks, Clam Cleats, Sail tie down, centre cord for sheet with Ronstan Shock and all cord required.
