The ECO PLATES remain on your roof bars allowing easy and quick removal and fitting of the cradles, when fitted and adjusted for you kayak to be straight on your vehicle the refitting of the Cradles is quick and easy. Removing the Cradles when not Kayaking helps save on fuel.
They come complete with 4 straps, 2 for each Cradles spreading the pressure on the kayaks deck which is important when transporting these new Ultra Light Weight Kayaks by P & H. These V Cradles have a reduced V to accommodate the hull of the Volan and Virgo as they have a flatter profile than some Kayaks, cradling the kayak much better. Fitting the straps through the slots on the inside of the Cradles, load the kayak and throwing the straps over the kayak we have included as an EXTRA small Neoprene Bags ( x4 ) to fit over the Buckle protecting the Cam Buckle from damaging the kayak and vehicle paintwork allowing the straps to be much easier to pass over the kayak.
Tests have shown that using V Cradles to transport your kayak can reduce fuel consumption upto 10% less than carring your kayak on J Cradles. Never transport a kayak with the deck down on the bars as this is the weakest part of the kayak.
